Fancy a midweek date night without having to travel far? We headed to The Harpenden Arms for their Taco Tuesday — and took our little one along for the ride!

Taco Tuesday is all about good food, margaritas and a relaxed evening in the heart of Harpenden. The current offer includes a steak taco board to share and two margaritas for £40.

As we were with our little one, we opted for two alcohol-free margaritas, and the team couldn't have been more accommodating. There were plenty of flavours to choose from, and we went for cherry and passionfruit — both delicious and definitely didn't feel like the boring option! Our little one was equally happy with a babycino, making this a surprisingly lovely family-friendly version of a date night.

And then came the tacos. The sharing board was absolutely delicious, with plenty to enjoy between the two of us. It felt like the perfect sort of meal for a Tuesday evening: something a little different from the usual dinner, but still relaxed and unfussy.

The Harpenden Arms is also genuinely family-friendly, with baby-changing facilities and food served throughout the week.

We spoke to Esay, the manager, about the inspiration behind Taco Tuesday, and we loved hearing that he wanted to bring a really good Mexican-inspired night to Harpenden. We love seeing our local venues introducing something a little different — especially when it gives parents another excuse to get out for a midweek treat!
