The Magic of Christmas, Walkern

Published:

This weekend we visited The Magic of Christmas shop in Walkern near Stevenage- one of the largest Christmas shops in Hertfordshire, stocking over 8,000 items sourced from all over the UK and Europe! As well as selling all manner of beautiful decorations, lights, wreaths, garlands and everything associated with Christmas, there’s also a lovely Nordic tearoom and from the end of November you can meet Father Christmas!

We first discovered The Magic of Christmas a few years ago when we lived in Stevenage and we’ve now been many times, often taking friends and family who are equally amazed by how beautiful it is.

As soon as you enter the main barn, you will be blown away by how many decorations there are and how stunning the setup is.

Opening hours are 9am – 6pm Monday – Saturday and 10am – 4pm Sundays until December 23rd.

The Nordic Team Room is a hand-crafted bespoke chalet that’s been purpose-built and similar to one that you may find in the Alps. There’s a selection of vegetarian, vegan & gluten free food which is offered as eat in or take away. The boys were delighted with the chocolate dipped gingerbread men!

Santa’s Grotto
will open from November 26th on Saturdays 9am – 6pm and Sundays 10am – 4pm, and all week in the lead-up to Christmas (tbc- so do call to check). The cost is £9 per child. To book, simply call direct on 0143861100.

The photos in this article don’t do justice to just how magical the Barn is, so do check out my Reel on Instagram and go along for yourself to experience the Magic of Christmas.
