Summer Craft Activities at Hobbycraft Biggleswade

Published:

In a desperate bid to entertain 5 children between us, my friend and I booked on to do Mask Making at Hobbycraft in Biggleswade last week, and I have to say...it was well worth it!

Hobbycraft stores throughout the UK are running themed craft sessions for just £5 per child during the Summer holidays.

We arrived and were lucky enough to have a (purely by chance) private session for our rugrats who thankfully obediently took their seats around the craft table. We were greeted by Sarah who explained all about the activity and was brilliantly patient, enthusiastic and hands-on with the children.

Each child was given a name label so she could really personalise their experience by using their names when helping and giving them instructions, which was a really nice touch.

Each child was given a mask and shown how to sellotape the straw so they could hold it when complete. There was an abundance of materials laid out on the table, including tissue paper, pipe cleaners, pens, pompoms and glue for sticking.

Once they'd made their masks, the children were more than welcome to make another, which I thought was really nice- at no point were we rushed away having completed a mask. Sarah even showed the children how to make a 'stickman' out of pipe cleaners, which kept them entertained for longer.

You can find details of all the different craft sessions that are running at Hobbycraft in Biggleswade here. Simply change the locations if you'd like to travel to other stores, such as Stevenage.

Sessions include:

Clay Sea Creatures

Personalised Canvas Painting

Mask Decorating

Decorate your own maché animal

Make your own dinosaur fossils
