These are memorable and exciting sessions for individuals and families, where you can suit-up and explore a hive while learning all about the fascinating world of bees. You will get answers to all the questions you have about these wonderful creatures while visiting our BuzzWorks discovery centre and apiary, set in a nature reserve and surrounded by our tranquil garden and pond. Our friendly, experienced beekeepers will open and explore a real hive so that you can see the bees at work up close.

Following on from our pilot event in 2024, we're excited to present Shuttleworth's first Family Concert.

Join us and celebrate all of your favourite family musicals in this relaxed summer event, perfect for the smallest to the biggest of kids (and those that are still kids at heart!).

A symphony orchestra offers your family the chance to experience these heart-pumping, toe-tapping songs live, with accompanying performers direct from the West End.

Visitors have access to a few activities including specimen handling, crafting and a gallery trail.

A unique opportunity to learn about the less savoury aspects of Victorian life in a fun, family-friendly environment with the 'Ragged Victorians'!

Meet costumed re-enactors in our buildings and around the Museum site. Look out for shady characters including the rat catcher and his rats; street urchins, rogues and vagabonds. This living history event is great for kids who are learning about the Victorians at school. Visit our traditional schoolroom and heritage farmyard. See how the Victorians lived and worked but watch out for pickpockets!

Join us on the weekend of the 16th and 17th of August for Red Panda Weekend here at Hertfordshire Zoo. Whether you're a curious adventurer or a family seeking something different, Rewild Your Summer is a full day of unplugged fun, traditional skills, and outdoor freedom at Celtic Harmony Camp.

Come and build sandcastles on the beach, enjoy time on the pedal boats then bounce away on the 4 bouncy castles including the popular assault course. Come and enjoy some fun in the sun!
