King George V Park

Published:

I don’t know about you, but we spent lockdown either in parks or looking longingly at them when they were closed! They’re such a great way to get some fresh air and tire out little feet.

We only discovered King George V Recreation Ground at Hitchin Rugby Club a couple of months ago when friends suggested we meet there, and I’m absolutely kicking myself I never knew it was there, a mere mile from my house!

It’s got so much there:

🐶 🏉 Huge playing fields/rugby pitches, which are popular with dog walkers

🧒 Great play equipment to suit all ages:

- Small and large climbing frames

- Zip wire

- Swings

- Roundabout

- A sit-on camel (yep, who doesn’t love a camel- it was the most popular thing for my 14 month old while there!)

🚗 Lots of free parking

🛹 Skate park over the far side

⚽️ Football cage alongside the park

🏋️ Outdoor exercise equipment

You can access the car park from Old Hale Way or walk through from King George Close (behind the BP on Bedford Road)

I’ll be adding information on lots of local parks to the website in due course, so please let me know your favourites by dropping me an email to [email protected]
