Come and visit the largest preserved Midland Railway signal box in the UK and one of the few preserved boxes that's open to the public and next to a busy main line railway.
Signalling demonstrations are run on the operating floor upstairs whenever asked for. Railway videos and a slideshow of the restoration are shown downstairs, with many signalling items on display, including single line 'tablet token' machines, and other railway-related exhibits.
In the garden visitors can operate working signals and a point; on display are old signs, lit oil lamps, a telegraph 'pole route' and a garden railway.

This workshop is all about colour!
Taking the beautiful graduated tones found on commercial paint charts, this workshop will see the artists cut, collage and mosaic these charts to create a wonderful picture using hues and tones of the same colour to create a striking image.

In this drawing workshop, Julia will teach drawing skills to create clever artistic illusions.
Optical illusions are images or pictures that we perceive differently than they really are. Put another way, optical illusions occur when our eyes send information to our brains that tricks us into perceiving something that does not match reality.
When we put pen to paper we are always creating the illusion of a form. Julia will show how to make a drawing look 3-dimensional or how to draw an illusion of space or light or how to make something look different if perceived in different ways. Can a drawing be two things at once?

In this 1 hr session, you will create a colourful square hanging light catcher to take away and keep forever.
We will use lots of different colours of sheet glass, frit (crushed glass) and stringers (threads of glass) to make our designs.

Classes include Ballet, Tap, Acro Dance, Musical Theatre, Aerial Skills, Jazz, Contemporary, Commercial Dance, Boys Street Dance, Singing, Piano, Violin, Music Theory and Guitar. Classes are run by Georgina Pay School of Dance and Cassana Performance Academy who work collaboratively together to provide a wide and varied timetable.
