Christmas is the perfect time to get stuck in to some crafting activities to make your own beautiful decorations or as gifts for others. We're lucky to have a whole host of talented crafters locally, who are running classes, workshops and events to help you get your craft on!

Triangle Tribe Christmas Special at Triangle Community Garden, Ransoms Rec
Fri 5th December 2025 6.30-8.30pm
Bushcraft, foraging and survival skills for families with teens. Get outside, learn new skills, meet new people/bring a friend, spend some family/ intergenerational time in a different setting. This session we'll be making wreaths from natural materials and sharing festive food, among other things. Triangle Tribe is a monthly evening of Bushcraft for Wellbeing, outdoors at the community garden, for families with teens aged 12 to 16, led by forest school specialists CultureWood CiC. Grandparents welcome. Neurodiversity welcome.

Christmas Wreath workshop & cocktails at Fussey & Baer

Join us for a festive evening with the wonderful Chloe from Floral Roots. Chloe will show you how to build and create your very own Christmas wreath that you can proudly hang on your door throughout the festive period. All materials are included along with a drink of your choice (our usual offering, plus, mulled wine, margarita, espresso martini, or add baileys to a drink of your choice!).

Make a natural festive wreath! at Ransoms Pavilion

Make a beautiful festive wreath from natural materials. This year why not adorn your front door with something beautiful and sustainable that you made yourself! Our two hour wreath-making workshop includes all wreath materials, tea/ coffee and delicious home-made mince pies. All the wreath materials we provide are natural and sustainable, including the wreath base. If you wish to bring along some extra decorations of your own you're most welcome. Places are limited so book promptly! Accompanied young people aged 11-18 are very welcome to attend.

Christmas Wreath Workshop at Venues across Hitchin, Letchworth & Stevenage

Join us this festive season for a series of Christmas wreath workshops across Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin. Whether it's your first time making a wreath or you've done it before, you'll be guided step by step to create your own fresh and unique Christmas wreath to proudly hang on your door.
Each workshop is designed to be cosy, relaxed, and full of festive cheer. Expect seasonal music, the smell of fresh foliage, and the chance to unwind while getting creative. All materials are provided, so all you need to bring is yourself (and maybe a friend or two).

Festive Weaving Fun for Families - Kids craft session at North Herts Museum

Get into the Christmas spirit with this creative weaving workshop designed for the family! Use a seasonal mix of ribbons, wools and fabrics to design your very own festive woven decoration. Add star, tree and snowflake shapes after to make a cheerful decoration to hang at home. This relaxed session encourages imagination, creativity and lots of festive fun, enjoy Christmas crafting together! Suitable for ages 4-11.

Gingerbread Decorating for Christmas at Walsworth Road Baptist Church
Sat 20th December 2025 10am - 12pm
Drop in for a cosy time decorating gingerbread, doing some Christmas crafts (for under 5's) enjoying a hot drink and (of course) listening to some Christmas carols. We'll be finishing our event with a 'Nativity from scratch'. Adults and children are invited to pop on a costume (we'll have plenty available) and join in a narrated nativity play in the main church. Everyone is welcome to take part or to watch!
The event is suitable for all ages and free to attend; but pre-registration is required so we have plenty of gingerbread ready and can cater for any food allergies. Registration closes on 14th December.

Christmas Art Club at St Mary's Parish Hall, Baldock

Time to get fully festive! We have lots of Christmas Art and Crafts on offer for a morning of creative fun. Children are invited to wear a Christmas jumper or something sparkly to add to the countdown magic! These are full mornings of creativity so you can drop off your excited children and be free to shop, wrap presents and get everything ready for the big day. (Ages 5 - 11).
