Visit Bury Lane pick your own pumpkin patch, located in Melbourn on the Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire border where you can choose from a wide variety of pumpkins and gourds for your Halloween fun. Our patch is growing well and will be open from Saturday 27th September 2025 until Friday 31st October 2025. As entry is via the Farm Shop and our Halloween Shop we can only allow Assistance Dogs and remember to wear suitable shoes and clothing as the pumpkins are in the field where they have been grown!

As well as exploring our 12-acre patch, guests are also welcomed to shop our extensive range of pre-picked pumpkins and squash from inside The Red Shed. So whether you're looking to carve a jack-o-lantern for Halloween, create a warming seasonal dish using the freshest produce, or decorate your home for autumn, we have something for everyone to enjoy.
Covering an acre, our 'Big Bales Stack' is a mountain of huge oat and wheat straw bales cut and carted from our farm close to Harpenden. From the summit you get a glorious view over the pumpkins and from base camp, a circuit of bales to leap and lunge across. Our tractor tyre sandpit is also available for little ones to enjoy.
Visit The Pit Stop Café for hot dogs, hot and cold drinks and yummy ice cream (vegan options available).

This autumn we are excited to open the farm gates again and welcome you to our outstanding, award winning pumpkin patch. Growing an abundance of pumpkin and squash varieties, we're quite possibly the most diverse selection of any PYO in the UK! And as far as we're aware, we're the largest pumpkin patch in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire & Oxfordshire! For the past 6 years since we first opened, tickets for our Pumpkin events have sold out and so, we recommend booking early!

However, The Patch MK is no ordinary pumpkin patch. Situated within our home-grown pumpkins are a multitude of unique photo-ops. You could relax on a chair inside a hand-crafted Giant Pumpkin, fly away on a Witches Broom, snap that selfie on the Devil's Throne or capture your perfect autumn shot on the beautifully-decorated American Truck. The opportunities to capture those special moments are endless! Our daytime events host an array of activities for all ages! Enjoy interactive entertainment in the form of stilt walking, hula hoop workshops and bubble magic from our resident witches, Theodora Trinket and Belladona Bubbles. Our magical school timetable has been scrambled up by playful witches and cheeky woodland ghosts! They've mixed up all the lessons, and now we need your help to put things right. As you journey through the meadow and woodland, look out for each lesson along the trail. Can you spot the lesson and work out which class it belongs to? At every location, write down the spooky lesson on your trail sheet and match to the correct class to help restore order to our school of magic. As you follow the trail, use your 3D classes to reveal a secret hidden letter. The letters will spell out a magic word.
