Five greenspaces in North Herts are among the best in the UK!
- Oughtonhead Common Local Nature Reserve (LNR) in Hitchin, for the 10th year running
- Ivel Springs LNR in Baldock, for the 11th year running
- Howard Park and Gardens in Letchworth, for the 12th year running
- Norton Common LNR in Letchworth, for the 16th year running
- Priory Memorial Gardens in Royston, also for the 16th year running
The Green Flag scheme is managed by Keep Britain Tidy and our sites are among 2,250 in the UK to achieve the award, which is the international quality mark for parks and green spaces.
We work closely with our grounds maintenance contractor John O’Conner and Hertfordshire County Council’s Countryside Management Service, which manages various volunteer Friends groups, to keep the sites well maintained and thriving for people to enjoy.
