A press release from North Herts District Council...
The end of the academic year often brings a lot of ‘left-overs’ back home! Here's how you can recycle as much as possible:
🎨 Artwork covered in glue, glitter and paint is too heavily contaminated and should not be recycled, sneak these into your purple-lidded non-recyclables bin instead.
🗒️ Exercise books that just have a few worksheets glued in can be recycled in your blue-lidded cardboard and paper bin. Don’t worry about removing the staples, but do try and remove any errant paperclips.
🧰 Broken lunchboxes and reusable drinks bottles are usually made from hard plastic that should be taken to your local recycling centre.
👕 Why not organise a uniform swap at the end of term, to pass on outgrown jumpers and shirts to pupils in the years below to extend their wear?
Check what else can be recycled on our website, or download the North Herts Council app.
