A message from North Herts District Council...
Following a consultation process, Greenspace Action Plans (GAPs) for three local areas in Hitchin have been published.
These GAPs cover the period 2024-29 and have been agreed following two stages of engagement with the local community. One important goal for all three sites is to improve habitats within the chalk river that connects them, for example by creating low brushwood berms and pinning tree limbs into the channel to narrow the river and create more diverse flow conditions.
