The good news is there is so much going on locally that this is by far my biggest holiday guide yet, so you’ll have no chance to be bored with all the events lined up!

Easter Holidays Craft Days at the British Schools Museum, Hitchin
Tue 4th - Thu 6th April 2023 and Tues 11th – Thurs 13th April 2023
Located in our historical Monitorial Schoolroom, have the opportunity to join in a flexible drop-in drop-out morning session from 10:00 - 12:00 to work with up to three artistic craft activities. From egg baubles to pop-up Bunny puppets, Bunny baskets for collecting your eggs, to spring lamb art, there's something for everyone!

Design the Hitchin Flag competition with Visit Hitchin
CLOSING DATE: Fri 28th April 2023
Hitchin residents aged 3-10 have the opportunity to design a handmade 'Welcome to Hitchin' flag for the Market Place flag pole. Entries must feature the words 'Welcome to Hitchin', must be handmade and not digital, and must use our template and entry form, which you can pick up from Hitchin Information Centre, 1a Churchyard, or Next Page Books, 120 Queen Street. This is to ensure that the flag is the correct size and that we have your details!
In 2019, the flag pole was installed on the Market Place to commemorate Keith Hoskins MBE serving 22 years as Town Centre Manager. The pole is used to fly flags for official days and significant occasions, but a flag is not flown all the time. With help from the people of Hitchin, we want to change that! We have joined up with our friends at @angelsautismadhdsupport to celebrate #autismacceptanceweek in the shop. On Saturday we have our usual storytime and craft at 1030am. Then at 3pm we have another one! The same book and craft will be used at both sessions, and staff from Angels will be here for the later session ready to chat.
