Are you ready for a Jolly Good Funfest?

Published:

There’s a (relatively!) new local family events company and if you went to a certain Halloween event in Letchworth last October, you’ll know exactly who I’m talking about, because it was hands down one of the best family events I’ve been to and the local buzz suggested that others felt the same!

Jolly Lemon Events was set up by two Hertfordshire mums with over 15 years’ event management experience, who say:

“we love dreaming up and producing family adventures, taking families out of their day to day lives into magical and fun places, which can inspire and create incredible memories that last for years to come. Our passion is to create events which allow young children to engage in fun and interactive experiences, explore their imaginations and to create a wealth of magical memories. Our events aim to encourage families to create, explore, dance, play, discover and laugh!”

For my eldest, Halloween is a bigger deal than his birthday, he absolutely loves it, so when I saw an ad for “Spooky Funfest” in Letchworth, I knew it would be right up his street.

Hang on, “why is she reviewing an event that happened 5 months ago?” I hear you ask! Well, Jolly Lemon Events has a new event lined up in May called “Jolly Good Funfest” on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th May, and given the Mum’s guide to Hitchin website was still being set up when October’s “Spooky Funfest” was on, this is a bit of a retrospective Tried and Tested, which I hope will help to give you a flavour of what to expect from the very talented duo and their team for their next event.

One of the first things I said to the owners of jolly lemon events when they revealed their identities to me (sounds a bit dramatic!) was “I KNEW you were mums as you put on such a great event for children!”.

October’s Spooky Funfest was set in the land around The Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living with large marquees set up with activities and refreshments, and indoor play areas including soft play, train tracks, animal encounters and Arts and Crafts.

Outside there were bouncy castles, a spooky trail, Halloween games, a pumpkin patch, spooky graveyard and even live performances and Meet and Greets from Princess Elsa. There was so much to do and the whole setup had a lovely “village fete on a grand scale” feel to it.
