Hitchin forum's Big Spring Clean

Published:

There's still time to sign-up for Hitchin Forum's Big Spring-Clean on Sunday 23rd March.

We provide litter pickers, bags and plenty of guidance for what is an enjoyable and rewarding morning for all ages to make the town look its best.

Founded in 1992, Hitchin Forum works with people and organisations who want to maintain and enhance Hitchin’s special character. Our motto is ‘caring for our town’. One way in which we do that is by running twice yearly litter picks, usually in March and October, where we normally attract well over 100 volunteers of all ages to clean-up the town. Organisations such as Guides, Beavers and Hitchin Tennis Club also take part. We always work on Hitchin’s green spaces such as Ransom’s Recreation Ground, Butts Close and Windmill Hill, but volunteers are keen to suggest other areas, generally resulting in a total of between 15 and 20 places throughout the town getting a makeover. We supply litter pickers and bags, there is plenty of advice, and our clean-ups are an enjoyable social event for those involved.

You can choose where you would like to work.

To register, please email [email protected].
