Free day out in Hertfordshire?

Published:

This weekend we made the most of our monthly free day out from MoneySuperMarket and headed over to Snakes and Ladders in Luton — and it turned into the perfect family Saturday. Even though we’re lucky to have some brilliant soft plays locally in Hertfordshire, the kids absolutely love the excitement of trying somewhere new. For them, it’s not just soft play… it’s a full-on adventure.

From the moment we walked in, their faces lit up at the sight of the huge multi-level play frame. Tunnels to crawl through, bridges to balance across and climbing zones that tested their bravery (and my nerves!). The twisty slide was a firm favourite — fast, swooshy and guaranteed to cause fits of giggles every single time.

One of the sweetest parts was the mini role play area. Watching them switch between shopkeeper, chef and tiny café owner was just adorable. Ordering imaginary ice creams, “cooking” dinner and serving up plastic cups of tea — their little imaginations were in full swing. It’s those quieter, creative moments that I love just as much as the high-energy climbing.

There’s also a brilliant toddler zone, which makes it so much easier if you’ve got mixed ages. Safe, colourful and just the right size for little explorers finding their confidence. Meanwhile, the bigger two were racing through obstacles and planning their “missions” at the top of the frame.

And of course… the café. Because soft play survival = coffee ☕️ A quick sit down while they burned off endless energy was very much appreciated.

It’s funny how a simple change of scenery makes the day feel that little bit more special. We might have great soft plays at home, but the adventure of somewhere different always wins with the kids.

Another great soft play in the bank for future!
