Things to do in and around Hertford for May Half Term
Well here we are... we blinked and somehow the Easter holidays are over, we've had two bank holiday weekends and suddenly we are approaching May half term.....

As always we have rounded up our top picks of things to do in and around Hertford Hertfordshire and you'll find them below.
Budget Friendly Options
Times are tough for many of us and the prospect of entertaining the kids for a full week on limited funds can be daunting.
Thankfully there are some great budget friendly events on this May Half term in Hertfordshire.
- Cars at the Castle is a fantastic local event and completely FREE inside the castle grounds
- Hertford Museum are also running some budget friendly activities this half term with drop in crafts between 27th - 29th details here.
- Kid Zone in Stevenage is a fantastic and FREE event.
- On the subject of musuems don't forget that Lowewood Museum is free and fabulous. Only Friday and Saturday
- If the warm weather is set to stay Splashlands at Stanborough Park is a brilliant activity for hot days.
- Cedars Nature Centre are also back with their budget friendly days out, this time its Minibeast Mayhem and its just £2.40 pp. In addition to all the usual meet and greets and animal talks they provide on a daily basis each child will be given a sheet upon arrival and will embark on a self lead minibeast fact finding mission.
There's also drop in pond dipping at Harlow Pets Corner which is just £3pp
Local workshops
The Southern Maltings have a great range of workshops on for half term here.
Wonderden also have some fab bits on as usual.
Live Theatre
The Spotlight have Milkshake LIVE on!
And of course BEAM have some fab things on!

Hertfords very own Foxholes Farm have their very popular tractor event running for half term!
- Willows Activity Farm are hosting Magic and Mayhem with prizes, spell binding arts and crafts, animals, live character shows, funfair rides, the Peter Rabbit adventure playground and Tristan the Runaway Tractor - ALL included in the admission price.
- Sun bear, Binturong & Otter Weekend returns to Hertfordshire Zoo
- You can also meet the stars one One Zoo Three at Hertfordshire Zoo this half term.
- And also Hey Duggee
- You can meet Peppa Pig at Woburn Safari Park!
- Whipsnade Zoo have Make, Create & Celebrate with Mister Maker and Rebecca Keatley this half term.
- One of our other favourite attractions locally is Beckonscot Model village and Railway
Bekonscot Model Village & Railway is the world's oldest original model village, opening for the first time in 1929. With over 90 years of history, huge model railway, 1.5 acres of well kept gardens and finely detailed model buildings Bekonscot is a great day out for everyone.
- Another attraction we love is Mountfitchet Castle
