Native Species Festival
Hertfordshire Zoo
Sat 23rd May 2026 - Sun 31st May 2026
10-6
Join us at Hertfordshire Zoo from 25th - 29th May 2026 for our Native Species Festival, a week dedicated to celebrating the incredible wildlife found on our doorstep; from the fungi beneath our feet to much-loved British mammals like hedgehogs.
As the proud host of the IUCN Centre for Species Survival UK, Hertfordshire Zoo works alongside conservation experts to help protect species across the UK and UK Overseas Territories. Throughout the week, visitors can learn more about native wildlife and the simple ways we can all support nature.
Visitors can enjoy:
Native Species Talks throughout the day
A birdwatching activity trail around the zoo
Bug hotel building demonstrations
Sand lizard feeding sessions with our keepers
Interactive activities with our Conservation Education team
The Native Species Festival is included with standard zoo admission, making it the perfect family day out this May half term. Alongside the festival, guests can also explore over 800 animals, the World of Dinosaurs and much more.
