Fantasy Forest: Libertalia
Hatfield Park and Gardens
Fri 4th September 2026 - Sun 6th September 2026
Since launching at Sudeley Castle in 2019, Fantasy Forest has grown into a much-loved event for fantasy and cosplay enthusiasts, welcoming visitors of all ages from across the UK and overseas. Its sold-out 2025 event attracted 19,000 visitors, and in 2026 the festival will bring its distinctive blend of performance and community to Hatfield Park.
Across the weekend, visitors can explore a series of themed areas, including the Medieval Village, Pirate Camp, Cosplay Court and The Wastes, a post-apocalyptic world with its own dedicated live music stage.
The festival will feature a packed programme of activities, displays, workshops, entertainment and independent shopping.
Visitors can also enjoy games, costume and make-up workshops, pirate trinket-making, roaming entertainment and a range of fantasy-inspired photo opportunities.
Live music will take place across three stages throughout the weekend. The line-up includes The Longest Johns, Prima Nocta, Deloraine and Corvus Corax, alongside artists such as Trolska Polska, Hi-Reciprocity, The Flying Elephants, Professor Elemental and Wight Hot Pipes.
The new Dancing Oak stage, located near the Medieval Village, will showcase European balfolk bands and invite visitors to participate in dance workshops. Meanwhile, the Cosplay Court will host the festival's popular Costume Show and Competition, celebrating elaborate hand-crafted costumes alongside demonstrations and workshops.
A new Saturday evening highlight, Tales of Fantasy, will also make its debut at Libertalia, with details of the visual spectacle being kept under wraps.
Visitors will be able to browse a wide variety of traders offering fantasy-inspired clothing, artwork, accessories, crafts and merchandise, alongside food and drink stalls catering for a range of dietary requirements, including vegan and gluten-free options.
Day and weekend tickets are available, with adult tickets (16+) from £19.44 and children's tickets from £1.50. The festival is located at Hatfield Park, with a pedestrian entrance directly in front of Hatfield Station.
**PLEASE NOTE THAT SINGLE-DAY SATURDAY PASSES ARE NOW SOLD OUT. TWO AND THREE-DAY WEEKEND PASSES (WHICH INCLUDE SATURDAY) ARE STILL AVAILABLE.**
During the weekend, Hatfield Park will be offering special tours of Hatfield House, a Jacobean country house built in 1611 by Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury, exclusively for Fantasy Forest: Libertalia visitors. These tours must be pre-booked.
