Young People's Puppet Theatre Presents
St Albans Cathedral
Wed 20th May 2026
6.30pm & 7.45pm
The Young People's Puppet Theatre is proud to present A Grim Day Out and The Crossing Place-two imaginative productions created as part of its year‑long arts education projects with schools across the UK.
In The Crossing Place, (6.30pm) YPPT offers a re‑imagining of the story of Alban. Living a happy life in Roman Britain, Alban encounters a mysterious stranger who turns his world upside down, setting him on a journey of courage, belief, and transformation.
A Grim Day Out (7.45pm) tells the story of two children who fall backwards through time into the Victorian age, a period of great change and warring political factions centred around the Cathedral. Along the way, they meet a host of colourful characters, including the eccentric Victorian architect Lord Grimthorpe, and ultimately help bring people together by reminding them what really matters.
