Remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot!
I love this time of year! Getting out in the elements on a cold night gives a real sense of adventure and brings back memories of childhood. Wrapping up warm with sparklers, toffee apples and huddling together over a hot chocolate to watch the one of the fireworks displays taking place across the town is something that makes this time of year so special.
Here is our round up of the best local fireworks displays this year. There are quite a few displays happening over both weekends this year, so why not try and get to as many as you can?
1. The Low Bang Fireworks at Willow's Activity Farm *SOLD OUT*
Friday 1st November.
Good for younger ones or bigger kids who are scared of loud bangs, Willows are putting on a show with a slightly lower decibel level to keep everyone happy. Tickets need to be bought in advance, under 2’s are free.
2. St Albans Fireworks Spectacular at Verulamium Park
Saturday 2 November.
The biggest and most spectacular fireworks event for miles. Tickets online in advance or at the gate (cash only).
3. Redbourn Common Fireworks in Redbourn
Saturday 2nd November. Free.
This local event runs alongside a fun fair and the Scouts selling hotdogs to make it a great family evening.
4. Cassiobury Fireworks in Cassiobury Park, Watford
Saturday 2 November. Free.
This is Hertfordshire's largest free firework display and has food stalls and fun fair rides for the kids.
5. London Colney Firework Display at The Caledon Community Centre
Sunday 3rd November. Free.
A free community display for the residents of London Colney with fun fair rides, food stalls and hot chocolates. Please note there is no parking available at the venue.
6. Fleetville PTA Fireworks Spectacular at Fleetville Junior School
Sunday 3rd November. £5.
Organised by the school’s PTA and held on the Junior School's playing field, there will be food, beer and children’s treats on sale during the evening
7. Wheathampstead Fireworks at Beech Hyde Primary School
Sunday 10th November.
There will be a BBQ, drinks and glow toys available on the night. Tickets in advance from Beech Hyde Primary School Office, Wheathampstead Pharmacy, Wheathampstead Post Office and Wheathampstead Tesco.
