Daniella Clements Therapy
Your birth story matters, it is your entry into motherhood and I'm here to help you find healing from perinatal and birth trauma.
Birth trauma relates to a traumatic experience that happened to you during any phase of childbearing, including the pre- and postpartum period, conceiving and early motherhood. Birth trauma is very individual and never your fault, if it felt traumatic to you, it was traumatic. It might be your labour was very recent, or it may have been many years ago, but when a memory is experienced as traumatic, time away from the event doesn't mean the distress will go away.
Following a difficult/traumatic birth, some women develop post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), whilst many others feel emotionally distressed after birth which can lead to experiencing trauma symptoms. This is why specialist psychotherapy like EMDR can really help relieve distress, and it is recommend by the NHS as the best form of therapy for birth trauma. If this resonates with you, you would so welcome to have a free telephone consultation to talk through more about what this support could look like for you. Check out the website for lots more information and how to get in touch.
The therapy is delivered online, at a time that suits you.
