Love yourself this Valentines

Show yourself a little love this Valentines

Valentines day is here now despite being happily married Valentines isnt really a big deal in our house. We usually just get each other cards and a supermarket dine in for 2 meal (so exciting aren't we!). We've been happily married for 10 years and don't feel we need a special day to show each other we love each other .

The past year has been exhausting for many of us, with stress worry and uncertainty and many parents are facing burn out. So this got me thinking what if this valentines we showed ourselves a little bit of love?

When was the last time you made time for yourself? Did something just for you? Probably not for a long time I imagine.

Whether you have a partner or not make sometime for yourself this valentines.

You could....

Go for a walk solo (providing someone else is in the house to mind the children that is)

Enjoy an uninterupted bath!

Read a book with a hot drink

Eat a cake all to yourself

Embark on a mini pamper session

Watch a movie of your own choosing.

Exercise

Mediate

The list is endless.

Think of it as a random act of kindness for yourself. For the past few weeks on a sunday my husband and I have been taking it in turns to have a golden hour . A whole hour where we can do whatever we want , just for us, without being interupted. Now I am aware this may not be feasible for some households however you could try just 10 or 15 minutes to yourself, hand the kids the tablets guilt free, eat the best biscuits guilt free. Remember that you cannot pour from an empty cup , you were a person before you were mummy or daddy and for today show that person some love.

Love yourself this Valentines.

With love from
