Willows Activity Farm- February Frolics

This is one of our all time favourites all the fun of willows fun with added adorable lambs, back in 2020 we saw twin lambs be born and it was magical. Visitors can also meet Bo Peep in her very own show with a fun hunt to find Bo Peep's lost sheep and a fleecy headband to make to take home.

Looking to try something different this half term? Then why not take the kids to have a go a bottle feeding a lamb at Aldenham Country park .
its a bit of a splurge but guaranteed to make memories to treasure plus you can combine your visit to the farm itself, and also the 100 acre woodland (see blog here)
Or you could have a go at Calf Bottle Feeding at Appleby Street Farm just £10!
A little further a-field but Old Mcdonalds Farm are also hosting " A Magical Half Term" with lots of singing princesses.

A little further afield but well worth a visit ! Bekonscot Model Village & Railway is the world's oldest original model village, opening for the first time in 1929. With over 90 years of history, huge model railway, 1.5 acres of well kept gardens and finely detailed model buildings Bekonscot is a great day out for everyone.
Standalone Farm is also reopening for half term and at just £6.50 a child and £7.50 an adult it is friendly on the purse strings too.
Budget Friendly Options
The cost of trips our can often mount up over school holidays and so we've added in some activities that are budget friendly as well.
Drop in craft activities at Hertford Museum

From the 15th-17th you can drop in for an "all creatures great and small" craft session at Hertford Museum for just £3 a child, i've been to plenty of these craft sessions and they are always a hit enough to fill an hour or so and then you can enjoy looking around the musuem too (entry to the musuem is free) why not couple this with a winter picnic in the castle grounds followed by a play in Hartham park and you've created yourself a real budget friendly day out!)
Cedars Nature Centre has been closed since August last year for some required updates but is reopening for special select open days during February half term. Cedars will be open on both weekends of the half term (12th,13th, 19th and 20th 10am-5pm) entry is just £2 , you can pay on the door. The centre is small but houses lots of interesting animals such as Kookaburras, reptiles, Owls, Meerkats, Armadillos, Skunks and more. Entry to cedars is free flow with animal meet and greets every 45 minutes. You can wonder in and out of the zoo as you please coupling a visit with enjoying the beautiful and historic Cedars park itself.

Another fantastic and local free resourse that is well worth a visit.
Only open friday and saturday but another great free entry musuem with toys for the children to play with, a great cafe and various free trails to enjoy. You can park for free outside The Spotlight.
You can also couple a visit here with The JailBreak Cafe which is just next door!
The Jailbreak cafe is an activity and cafe all in one! It's set inside an old police station and you can chose to dine in either an old police cell (some have toys in) or outside in the exercise yard. The whole experience is very interactive with plenty to keep the little ones occupied whilst you enjoy a coffee, the prices are good too (we have a coffee, 2 juices, 2 doughnuts and a panini and it was under £10!)
Another fantastic budget friendly option as its totally free to visit! And theres a fantastic park to explore just next door too.
Also in Harlow is a fantastic Nature Reserve called Parndon Wood, they have some drop in bug hunting sessions over half term which wont break the bank
