Woodland Walk & Workshop
Hatfield Park
Sat 17th February 2024 - Sun 25th February 2024
10.30am - 4pm
Embark on a journey into nature at our "Woodland Workshop", where children are invited to explore, create and connect with the park and woodland around them.
Set amidst the woodlands of Hatfield Park, this hands-on activity invites young minds to craft DIY Pinecone Bird Feeders and Bug Hotels. Under the dappled cover of the trees, kids will discover the joy of transforming simple pinecones into delightful bird feeders, attracting feathered friends to their back gardens. Older children might want to have a go at building a Bug Hotel, providing a cosy retreat for tiny critters.
With the backdrop of the historic Castle Folly, our workshops will also be a short walk away from our new Bird Hide, situated on the bank of the Broadwater. Having made your bird feeder, make sure you follow the track and signposts down to this secluded location, grab some binoculars, and try to spot some beautiful British birds. Maybe you will attract these into your own garden!
Guided by our knowledgeable and friendly staff, this workshop not only fosters creativity but also instils a sense of environmental stewardship, nurturing a love for the great outdoors.
The Woodland Walks will be open to explore from 10:30am and will close at 4pm.
Woodland Workshops will be available to enjoy during this time from 11am until 3pm, just drop in!
