At Baking Buddies, we believe baking is about so much more than following a recipe. Through our classes, we help children build confidence, creativity, independence and lifelong skills in a fun, encouraging and inclusive environment. Every child is welcomed as part of our Baking Buddies family and encouraged to learn at their own pace, celebrate their achievements and take pride in all they create.
This summer, we're delighted to be running our popular Summer Baking Camp at High Beeches Primary School throughout August. Suitable for children aged 6–11+, our sessions include both sweet and savoury bakes each day, from biscuits and cakes to delicious desserts. Half-day sessions cost £38.85 and full-day sessions cost £48.80.
We're also excited to be launching our Family Baking Around the World sessions, where families can explore recipes and cultures from across the globe together. Taking place on Saturday 12th September, 10th October, 14th November and 12th December from 9.30am–12.30pm at the Discovery Den, High Beeches Primary School, Harpenden. Sessions cost £30 for one adult and one child, with additional children £10 each. These sessions are SEND friendly and include a sensory area for children who may benefit from taking some time away from baking.

Join in the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge
Looking for activities for your children this summer? Why not encourage your them to join the Summer Reading Challenge taking place at all libraries across Hertfordshire, including at Harpenden Library. This year's challenge launches on Saturday 4th July.
Children can pop into the library any time from Saturday 4th to join. This year's challenge theme is “Read to the Beat” - bringing together the power of reading and music.
After every 2 books read, children can return to the library to collect stickers to add to their sticker book and complete the challenge. Your child can borrow and read any books, e-Books and audiobooks of their choice in any genre they like: fiction, fact books, poetry, joke books, picture books and graphic novels all count. And for younger children sharing a book with parents and carers counts. You will find lots of inspiration in the library and on the Summer Reading Challenge website.
Children who read 6 books and complete the challenge by 5th September will receive a certificate and medal.
