The formal park covers an area of approximately 3.6 hectares (9 acres), and includes a wide range of features that still exist from the original park. These include rose and flower beds, extensive tree and shrub planting, the Aberdeen granite drinking fountain and the park-keeper's lodge. Has a children's playground. Also has an artificial sports pitch and a hockey pitch, and during the summer months free, turn up and play tennis courts.

The children's play area is located at the front of Greenwood Park, adjacent to Tippendell Lane. There is car parking either side of the main drive, close to the play area, but if this is full there is also a large car park to the rear of the Community Centre. The site in the heart of Hertfordshire's Green Belt, already boasts 45 acres of precious ancient woodland and is home to many rare butterflies and the protected English bluebell. A beautiful, large open space which can be found to the south and east of the Woodland Park and divides House Lane from the Jersey Farm housing. It is bisected by Footpath 26 and boasts both an Adventure Playground and a 'lagoon', which is home to various wildfowl as well as sticklebacks, horned snails and other aquatic life.

Jersey Farm Woodland Park is the largest of the Parish's outdoor spaces comprising some 55 acres of mixed woodland and meadowland on the site of former farmland between Sandringham Crescent and St Albans Road on the north.

Nomansland Common is a very popular recreational area for dog walkers, horse riders, flying kites & model airplanes, and families who enjoy a picnic on a Sunday afternoon.
