Children's Centres

Our Children’s Centres are changing from October 2018. The new service will be called the Hertfordshire Family Centre Service. It will bring children’s centres, health visiting and school nursing together to provide a more joined up service. Children, young people and their families from pre-birth through to when a child reaches 19 will be supported. One of the biggest differences is that you will no longer be restricted to accessing services via your local centre, being able to use any Hertfordshire Family Centre.

The staff will be called Family Support Staff. Health Visitors and School Nurses will now be called Public Health Nurses and they will support ages 0-5 and 5-19. The Family Support Staff will work with families with children aged 0-11.

The Family Centre Service are currently developing their website which will be available from September, as will access to newsletters and Facebook pages. It will be essential to re-register your children with the new service using a simple online form. You will be reminded to do this in September.
