My Museum: The Wonder Houses

A free museum adventure for curious children.
This spring, a brand-new family-friendly adventure awaits at Wardown House, Museum & Gallery!

Made in collaboration with The Culture Trust, our Home Education Network and Luton school children from William Austin Junior, Beech Hill Community Primary and Al Hikmah Girls School, The Wonder Houses are a new, permanent addition to the museum.

These amazing creations have been brought to life by six talented local artists; Anne-Marie Abate, Dionne Ible, Sarah Harrison, Tamara Nkrumah, Sophie Gresswell and Teakster, showcasing a diverse range of visually stunning artforms.

Join the Culture Trust this May half term for an arts workshop like no other! Your children are invited to step outside and explore the landscape within Stockwood Discovery Centre, discovering plants, flowers, soil and animals in nature. Through guided activity, they will take inspiration from the world outside and create paintings using eco-friendly paints made from natural materials, as well as make sculptures from materials found in the grounds. This workshop is perfect for curious and creative minds, and is a hands-on look into creativity through sustainability, celebrating the colours and textures found in the nature all around us.

Tickets: £6 (inc. booking fee) parents must stay with child/ren during workshop
Suitable for ages 5-10 years

In a marvellous museum of clocks is the wonderful Mouse Clock for all to see. One day the clock gets broken and a brave little mouse runs away...

In another part of town Mrs Hickory orders a new alarm clock and a huge box arrives on her doorstep. Why is it so big? And what is that squeaking sound inside?

As time ticks by, can Mrs Hickory and her cat Dickory catch the mouse running all over the house and will the beautiful old clock ever chime again?
