Welcome to our website www.mumsguideto.co.uk.  If you continue to browse and use this website you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use (‘these Terms’) which, together with our Privacy & Cookies Policy, govern Mum’s Guide To Limited’s relationship with you in relation to this website.  If you disagree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our website.

The term ‘Mum’s Guide To Limited’ or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to the owner of the website whose registered office is at 17 Park Avenue South, Harpenden, Hertfordshire AL5 2DZ.  Our company is registered in England and Wales under registration number 08045592.  The term ‘you’ refers to the user or viewer of our website.

We may revise these Terms from time to time.  Every time you wish to use our website, please check this page to ensure you are familiar with the Terms that apply at that time.

Use of our website is also governed by our Privacy & Cookies Policy which sets out the terms on which we process personal data. By using our website, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.

Our website is aimed at individuals who are over the age of 16. By using our website, you confirm that you are over the age of 16.

Our website is made available free of charge. We do not guarantee that our website, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may alter, suspend, withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of our website for business and operational reasons.

From time to time we may run competitions, free prize draws and/or other promotions on our website.  These will be subject to separate terms and conditions that we will make available to you as appropriate.

Please note that the “Mum’s guide to” logo is a trade mark of Mum’s Guide To Limited.  You may only use this logo to accompany a link to www.mumsguideto.co.uk.  You may only use the graphics supplied on our Resources Page, and you must not distort or alter the appearance of the logo in any way.  

You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists. You must not establish a link to our website in any website that is not owned by you. Our website must not be framed on any other site. If there will be a permanent link to our website and our logo will be used, the link must be to the home page of our website, www.mumsguideto.co.uk

We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission without notice.

11. Content

Our website allows relevant businesses, establishments, clubs and groups (together known as “the Businesses”) to list, advertise, publish features and write articles on our website producing “Listings”, “Advertisements”, “Features”, and “Articles”. Businesses also write Articles for our newsletter which is sent out to our newsletter subscribers, posted on our social media sites and published on our website from time to time.  

12. Recommendations and Comments

Users of our website, including you, may positively recommend one or more of the Businesses listed on our website.  No negative comments will be allowed.

When leaving your recommendation for a Business you will need to provide your name and email address.  You will then receive a link via your email address in order to confirm your recommendation.  If you fail to confirm your recommendation using the link in the confirmation email your recommendation and personal data associated with it will be deleted from the system after 6 weeks.

Once you have confirmed your email address we will review the recommendation prior to publishing it on the website and we reserve the right not to publish any recommendation/comment which we believe, in our sole discretion, is negative, dishonest, illegal, unfair, discriminatory or in some way may be prejudicial to the image or reputation of our website or the Business to which the comment relates.  If we choose not to publish your recommendation/comment on the website we will delete your recommendation/comment and personal data associated with it immediately. 

You will only be able to comment on each Business listing once. 

Your comment will remain on the website for up to 5 years. 

Your first name, the first letter of your surname, and the date of your comment will appear next to your comment on the website. 

You are free to request the removal of all your data from our website at any time by contacting us.  In doing so we will delete all your personal data held by us for this purpose and any recommendations and/or comments that you have made at any time on the website.

13. No reliance on information

The content on our website is provided for general information only. It is not intended to amount to advice or recommendations on which you should rely.

Our website publishes Listings, Advertisements, Features, and Articles from the Businesses and Businesses also write Articles for our newsletter which is sent out to our newsletter subscribers, posted on our social media sites and published on our website from time to time.  Save for the basic screening and approval of Listings, Advertisements, Features, and Articles we have neither control over, nor involvement in, any of the Businesses, and we accept no responsibility for any actions taken, or any goods or services provided, by any of the Businesses. We do not represent or guarantee the truthfulness, accuracy or reliability of Listings, Advertisements, Features or Articles by any of the Businesses on our website or in the newsletter, and we do not endorse any opinions expressed by them, or products or services provided by them.

Whilst every reasonable endeavour has been made to ensure that all information provided on our website will be accurate, correct and up-to-date, we make no warranties, guarantees or representations that this is the case.  The content of our website may contain inaccuracies or typographical errors and we do not accept any liability for error or omission. 

You are responsible for the way in which you use the information published on our website.   You should always undertake your own checks of the accuracy of information (including timings, availability, opening hours and prices) provided on our website before making any decision. 

In particular, if you use our website to find childcare or private tuition of any kind it is your responsibility to check registrations, qualifications, references and DBS checks where relevant.  We are in no way liable for any consequences and accept no responsibility for the verification of any childcare or private tuition Listings or Advertisements on our website.

We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors and for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Please note that we only provide our website for domestic and private use. You agree not to use our website for any commercial or business purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

15. No waiver

Any failure or delay by us to enforce strict performance by you of any of these Terms or to exercise any right under these Terms will not be construed as a waiver to any extent of our rights.

16. Severability

If any provision in these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, that provision will be deemed deleted from these Terms. The remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

These Terms and the relationship between you and Mum’s Guide To Limited shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and Mum’s Guide To Limited and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
