Join Edwyrdian Tales beside the glittering lights of the Christmas Tree for three haunting ghost stories of the season.
This year our night of festive spirits features terrors from classic authors of the age… H.R. Wakefield, Algernon Blackwood and an original tale from the pen of our storyteller.
In “Lucky’s Grove” a family discover the dangers of bringing in the wrong Christmas Tree for their celebrations. The twinkling fairy lights cannot illuminate the very real darkness they have let loose into their home.
In “The Wendigo” a lonely hunting party in far flung pine forests hear the terrible call of the wild. Something walks amongst the towering trees, and upon the wind itself.
And in “The Elder Son” a father tries to carve the perfect Christmas gift from a broken tree. A gift he bitterly regrets as soon as it is made.

School applications for children due to start primary, junior or middle school in September 2027 open on Monday 2 November.
The easiest way to apply for a school place is to visit the website and complete the online application form.
Herts County Council claims last year 99 per cent of parents applied this way and found the system quick, easy and secure.
The closing date for applications is 15 January 2027; it is vital that parents make their applications on time.
We would like to make families aware of Autism Central, a free national programme commissioned by NHS England and delivered by Anna Freud. It provides education, coaching and support for families and support networks of autistic people of all ages.
Whether you are concerned about school attendance, anxiety/mental health, behaviours of concern, sibling wellbeing, family relationships, or simply want to better understand autism and available support, Autism Central can help.
What support is available?

Speak with a trained peer guide who has lived or family experience of autism. Sessions are confidential, personalised and focused on practical guidance, problem-solving and signposting to relevant support and services. This can be particularly helpful for families navigating attendance difficulties, emotional wellbeing concerns, challenging situations at home or uncertainty about next steps.
