Established almost 50 years ago, ART ON THE COMMON in Harpenden is Hertfordshire's premier outdoor art event.
It takes place in a wonderful location on a tree lined section of Harpenden Common near the Town Centre. The two day Harpenden event, showcases the very best of Hertfordshire's art including a range of paintings, ceramics, fine art photography, pottery, jewellery, glass, fabric and wood. Glaze Time pottery painting will be visiting Bennet's, Leyton Rd, Harpenden on Monday 20th July. This free parent & toddler group runs 9am-12pm every week in their large function room - so there's plenty of space for prams, pushchairs & little ones to left off some steam in a safe space. They also have great coffee & cake and we kindly ask that you support the venue by purchasing a drink (it means they can continue to provide this group for free).
We will be there from 930am with all of the materials (& guidance if needed) to make a gift for a special family member, a keepsake for yourself or perhaps let your little one get creative (avoiding the mess at home). Colourscape
Stockwood Discovery Centre

A large walk-in labyrinth of colour and light will fill the lawn at Stockwood Discovery Centre this August. Visitors are invited to don a primary-coloured cloak to become part of the colour experience and step into a new world of intense colour and light.
Colourscape is formed of many interlinked chambers of primary colours to create a labyrinth (each chamber c. 4M across). Step forwards and a long view of radiating colours appears. Another step and another view appears until you are surrounded and immersed in the most intense colour and light imaginable. Visitors have described the experience as being like "wrapped in a rainbow" or saying "I felt I could breathe colours!"
