Get ready for mud!! Off-road bike racing fun for young novice riders! 

Held on the grass banking surrounding our velodrome at Gosling Sports Park, we host two rounds of the longstanding Muddy Monsters Series, an introduction to racing for youth novices. No prior racing experience required!

Muddy Monsters is a fun way for young riders to experience off-road racing in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Each rider in each age category gets 3 races: The Sprint & Endurance races which count towards the results. The final Handicap race of the day is non-counting and is for all out fun! Race categories according to age are U6, U8, U10, U12 and U14. Prizes are awarded at the end of all the races so please hang around to cheer those on the podium. All results count towards the series standings.

Any kind of bike (the events are off-road and most suitable for mountain bikes or cyclo-cross bikes) with two working brakes is allowed. Wearing helmets is compulsory - no helmet, no ride, and gloves/mitts are strongly recommended. Depending on the weather conditions we encourage you to wear many layers!

You can book in advance or enter on the day for only £5. Please arrive at least half an hour early to sign-in, warm-up, practice the course and collect your race number.

• 8:45am Course open for practice
• 9:20am Sign-on closes
• 9:30am First Race starts
• There will be a rider briefing prior to race start.

Entrants should not be competing regularly in regional cyclo-cross or mountain bike series events.
