January is generally a month with awfully cold weather and everybody watching their pennies. So I've collated some FREE and low cost things to do as well as some ideas to keep warm!
??1. Walk Southend Pier for just £1.50 in the winter
??2. Just Ride Southend - Opens Tuesday 14th January - £2.50 donation per rider, carers and parents of children riding are free and welcome to ride.
??3. Colchester Zoo have a great deal of £10 per person this January until 14th February (Online offer only)
??4. Barleylands Farm Park have 50% off all tickets until 31st January so you can enjoy the farm and the indoor venues and play areas!
??5. Join the Cliffs Winter storytime session for just £2 on Saturday 11th Jan. Head to the foyer to take part in the session.
??6. Lathcoats Farm have an animal area, tractors and play area which is FREE to customersk. All you need to do is buy a coffee from the Bee Shed Coffee House or pick up something in the Farm Shop.
??7. Call of the Wild zoo have a 'kids for a fiver' offer running from 6th Jan - 31st Jan.
??8. Maldon Promenade Zoo - The Zoo is open 364 days of the year - The Zoo is open 364 days of the year and they currently have a deal of just £3 a ticket for bookings up until 16th February. OThey also currently have a special offer of 30% off when you buy 2 or more annual passes and £15 entry for 1 with a 5 minute meet and greet with the meerkats.
??9. Stubbers Adventure Centre reopens on 12th January. For just £3 for adults, £4 for 5-15 year olds and FREE for under 5's, you have full access to the Adventure play areas, the woodland discovery trail and sand and paddle beach if you're brave enough!!
??10. Join the winter mini reading challenge at Southend Libraries until 20th February. Pop into a library, find yourself a book and sign up online.
