National Breastfeeding Celebration Week 2020


This year the theme is supporting parents on their breastfeeding journey through Covid-19. There are lots of places you can get support at this time.


Although Havering Children’s Centres are closed during the Covid-19 outbreak you can still speak to someone.  Infant Feeding Advisors are providing support via:

  • Telephone Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm
  • 01708 432309 (Becky) or 01708 434747 (Michelle)
  • E-mail [email protected] to ask questions or request a call back.


The ladies at LatchOn Havering are also on hand to support you. They can be contacted via: 



La Leche League (Havering and Brentwood Branch) have trained breastfeeding counsellors and is providing support via:

  • Online Zoom meetings (10am-12pm every Friday) – simply complete this online form or email [email protected] to join.
  • If you need support in between these times, please text local leader Kathy on 07790 725868 and she will text you back to arrange a time to talk.



The local Health Visiting Service can be contacted via:

  • Telephone Monday to Friday 9.00am-5.00pm to speak to, or request a call back, from a Health Visitor - 0300 300 1635.

For further support:

  • National Breastfeeding Helpline: 0300 100 0212 (help and support 365 days per year 9.30am-9.30pm)


Please note that all face-to-face Infant Feeding Cafés, Solid Food Workshops and Breastfeeding Support Sessions are suspended in Havering until further notice.
