Luton Family Hub: Central Library Location Launch!

Published:

This month saw the launch of the newest Luton Family Hub location, in the newly refurbished ground floor space of Luton Central Library. I was honoured to be invited along to the launch day to see what exciting new services will be on offer for local families - and it was clear to see just how much it meant to the team behind it all!

As part of the town-wide Luton Family Hubs initiative—a collaborative effort to bring support services under one roof—the newly opened hub at Luton Central Library offers families a dedicated space to access vital guidance. It’s designed for every family in Luton, providing help from pregnancy through to young adulthood, and including extended support for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) up to age 25.

This new Family Hub takes over the ground floor of the library, with the children’s library now thoughtfully relocated upstairs alongside the main library facilities. The redesign creates a modern, flexible space that better supports engagement, visibility, and community connection. I can’t wait to see what groups and activities take place here!

Families visiting the hub can expect a wide range of free services and activities, including:

  • Parent–child sessions
  • Advice and guidance on early years development, pregnancy, infant feeding, mental health, and SEND
  • Connections to local experts and professionals, including support from Flying Start and other partners including Health Visiting, Maternity, CAMHS, Infant Feeding Team and many more

Their aim is to work alongside local families and communities to give children the best start, it's a meaningful addition to the town, conveniently located for all and I can't wait to see what they achieve over the years.

If you haven't already looked at their website I highly encourage you to do so, there are heaps of resources, guidance, articles, support and links to other useful support services available! See www.familyhubs.luton.gov.uk for more details and their other dedicated locations (Park Town Family Hub & Hockwell Ring Family Hub)
