North Herts PRIDE Day is returning to Hitchin Market Square on Saturday 22nd August, and this year families are invited to add a splash of colour to the celebrations by creating their own Pride banners at home.

Making a banner is a simple, creative activity that children of all ages can enjoy. Families can use cardboard, paints, crayons, glitter, stickers or anything colourful to design a banner together. Whether it's rainbows, hearts, Be Kind, Love Wins, or a message of your own, every homemade banner helps brighten the parade and gives children a lovely way to take part.

The main Pride event runs from 10am-4pm in Hitchin Market Square, with drag performances, community stalls and a welcoming stage. Once the day winds down, the walking parade begins just after 4pm, giving families the chance to join in without needing to be there all day.

Families with young children are welcome to join the walking parade just after 4pm - bring your homemade Pride banner and walk with us.

There's no right or wrong way to make a banner. Children can create something small and simple or go big and bold - whatever suits your home, your time and your child's imagination. It's a gentle, positive way for families to be part of Pride and celebrate kindness, creativity and community.
