Over the last 20 years, it has been a true privilege to help transform cancer care one cuppa at a time through my annual Coffee Fundraiser in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. I held my first coffee morning back in 2006, and what began as a small gathering at home has grown into events in community centres and churches, bringing people together around coffee, tea, cake, and kindness.

In 2009, my dad was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin lymphoma, and my parents received wonderful support from Macmillan nurses. That care meant so much to our family, and it is one of the reasons I continue to do my bit to say thank you. Thankfully, after chemotherapy and radiotherapy, my amazing dad is now 92 years old.

Last year, I raised just over £2,500, which was an incredible amount, and it would be great to raise as much money for this year's Coffee Fundraiser on 2 October 2026.

The number of people diagnosed with cancer continues to grow, and every one of them deserves compassionate support that meets their unique needs. Macmillan Cancer Support is there to help people living with cancer across the UK get the support they need right now, while also helping to transform cancer care for the future.
