House & Grounds

Join Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild and his beloved dog, Poupon, on a festive trans-European tour, exploring the unique holiday traditions that light up each country's winter season.

Every stop on their journey will highlight a different city, blending local heritage, seasonal customs, and links to Waddesdon's famous collection.

Outside, the Manor and Gardens will be illuminated with an innovative new immersive light show, combining a specially commissioned digital projection, lights and sound. The lawns and trees in front of the house will be transformed into a living, moving tapestry of colour while the popular Christmas Fair (until 14 Dec) and Food Village move to the South side of the Manor.

Decorations in the House
As always, you will be welcomed into a house which has been brought to life with beautiful, playful decorations and immersive light art. Digital installations and soundscapes inspired by Ferdinand's journeys and the collections will combine to transport you around the world. And don't forget to look out for Poupon!

Outdoor Light Trail and Illuminations
Wander through the grounds as our spectacular landscape is transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour, lights and music with specially chosen installations. And warm up with a hot drink at the Coffee Kiosk.

Christmas Fair (until 14 Dec)
Browse a carefully chosen selection of handcrafted gifts and one-of-a-kind treasures. Take your time, chat with local makers, and enjoy a shopping experience that's as thoughtful as the items on offer. The Christmas Fair runs Wed - Sun from 22 Nov until 14 Dec.

Food Village
Be tempted by the food stalls of delicious festive foods, drinks, and flavours, ideal for savouring as you explore the beautiful grounds. The Food Village is open Wed - Sun from 22 Nov until 4 Jan.

Late night opening
Make the most of your visit on one of our late night openings. Every Saturday from 22 November until 20 December, the house and grounds will be open until 8pm with the last bus at 8.30pm. Please note that the last entry for the grounds is 7pm and last entry for the house is 7.20pm.
