JugArte Harpenden — Spanish Heritage Language School for Kids

JugArte Harpenden is a non-profit, entirely volunteer-run Saturday Spanish heritage language school for children aged 12 months to Year 6, based at The Lea Primary School, 1–3pm, starting 3 October 2026.

Founded and run by a team of Latin American and Spanish-speaking parents giving their own time, JugArte blends language learning with culture, play, and connection. Each session "travels" to a different country in Latin America or Spain, exploring its traditions, food, and stories through songs, games, crafts, and age-appropriate activities — all grounded in the CEFR framework.

Children are grouped by age (Pingüinos, Carpinchos, and Llamas), with a lead teacher and assistants in every class to support different levels within the group. As a non-profit, all proceeds go directly back into running the school, and spaces are kept small and limited.

Enrolments are now open for the 2026/2027 course — a warm welcome to Latin American and Spanish-speaking families in Harpenden looking to give their children a living connection to the language, not just lessons in it.
