Rothamsted Science & Heritage Walking Trails
Rothamsted is the home of a number of historical, agricultural experiments and projects that have changed the way farming is carried out around the world. Did you know that Rothamsted is the home of the world's longest running arable experiment, the Broadbalk field experiment? Or that the suction traps used in a insect survey which has been providing samples of insects since 1964 is now used globally?
We have two self-guides trails for you to enjoy. The Rothamsted Science Trail and The Rothamsted Heritage Trail. The science trail also has activity sheets for children to complete.
Both walks start at Rothamsted Conference Centre, so why not enjoy your walk by heading to the Pop-Up Cafe, where hot and cold drinks, and freshly cooked breakfast, lunch and snacks are served Monday to Friday 9am-3pm.
