Harpenden Child Contact Centre (HCCC)

Advertorial by Harpenden Child Contact Centre

Published:

Harpenden Child Contact Centre is a local Charity facilitating contact between children and their parents or other adults from whom they are separated following a family breakdown. Usually the Centre opens on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month providing facilities for up to 18 children, in All Saints Church Hall in Station Road Harpenden.

Due to Coronavirus restrictions we have not been able to operate since the end of February but hope to hold sessions again starting on Saturday the 26th September. We are asking for your help in two areas.

The first is to publicise the work of the Centre to families who might need us. Our contact details are below – do please pass them to anyone who might be experiencing difficulties in making contact arrangements.

The second is to recruit more volunteers to support the sessions. We have a pool of dedicated volunteers who usually attend the Centre once every 4 sessions, ie once every 2 months, but of course if they fall into a vulnerable category they cannot help at present. The task is not onerous but is very rewarding. A DBS check will be required, references taken up and training provided. If you are interested in learning more then do please contact us.  We should love to hear from you.

Our website is www.harpendenchildcontactcentre.org.uk; our two Co-Ordinators Ken Brennan and Sam Cooper who run the Centre can be contacted at [email protected] or by phone at 07842 167767; or contact the Chairman, Brigid Brennan at 07881 785299.
