Hertfordshire Libraries are looking for people over the age of 14 to volunteer as helpers in their Summer Reading Challenge this summer. This a good opportunity for young people looking for some volunteering experience for their CV or college/university applications.
The scheme takes place every year during the summer holidays and encourages children and their families to visit their local library and take part in a fun, free activity, reading books, chatting to volunteers about them and earning rewards.

The scheme runs Saturday 4 July to Saturday 5 September 2026.
Full training is given and volunteers are asked to give a minimum of 12 hours.
