School Uniform Drive

Published:

With Summer Holidays (and the looming costs that go with it) just around the corner, money is at the front of everyone’s minds and that’s without the worry of wether this years uniform will still fit at the end of the six weeks. Even with the discounts available and looking for the best bargains it’s a daunting expense when you don’t have it.

Here is where local Biggleswade resident has stepped in, Amy Foster spends months collecting up second hand uniform and sorting it out ready for families to come and help themselves completely free of charge!

It all began back in 2018 when Amy was recovering in hospital and was looking to occupy herself, her friend had expressed her worries over school uniform costs. Amy threw herself into advertising and making online requests to local families. Little did she know that she would go on to help over 250 families that year. 2019 and Amy stepped it up a gear and got Sainsburys on board, they provided a donation station in store aswell as opening her home up for a day for people to come along and help themselves, over 200 people turned up and that year over 750 families benefited from Amy’s kindness and hard work.

The last two years Amy has had a well deserved break but this year she is back, on the7th August at Biggleswade Scouts HQ between 11am and 3pm.
Donations are being accepted until 31st at Asda in Biggleswade (look for the trolley at the end of the tills)

Thank you Amy for all your hard work

Leanne x
