A Taylor Swift 2 day summer camp, learning songs and dance moves, designing costumes, making friendship bracelets and lots of fun games. Parents and friends are invited to watch our Swifties shake it off in a show on stage on the final day.

Get ready to fly, crawl and zoom! We're doubling the fun this summer with a second super fun children's trail; The Superhero Bugs & Birds Trail!

Gather your little adventurers and set off on a super-powered nature trail like no other! Our Superhero Bugs & Birds Trail invites families to explore our stunning Meadow and Woodland, uncover amazing facts about nature's tiniest heroes, and gather secret letters hidden along the way.

Write a story about one of the Biggleswade Beings: Library Fairy, Biggles the Gnome, Hedley Hedgehog, Mushy Mushroom, Tabitha Tree Sprite and Stumpy.

It can be about anything you like, but must be no more than 500 words.

The lucky winner will have their story made into a Tales of the Biggleswade Beings booklet

Pick up an entry form from the library help desk and see if you can complete all 8 of our Olympic themed reading challenges.

Summer themed stories on the Bryan Donkin boat. Hopefully lovely, warm weather and a gentle 45 minute trip from The River Gade, outside our front door, to The Grand Union Canal and return. We will do some wildlife spotting and and bird feeding along the way.

Looking for an indoor or creative activity to do over the summer holiday? We will be running a pottery painting session every Weds from 30th July at the Inn on the Green, Leyton Road, Harpenden from1030am-1pm. Book a table to share with friends or your children and you can make memories, have some painting therapy or perhaps create a gift.

Items range from £7-35 each and take 10-14 days to be ready. We can take payment by card, cash or bank transfer.

Transport your little ones into outer space with our immersive Space Dome. We have teamed up with Immersive Theatres who are a mobile digital planetarium service specialising in astronomy, interactive learning, entertainment and a digital 360-degree exploration of space! Enter the dome and we will take you on an up-close educational voyage into space, where little ones will learn about the universe in an accessible way. Immersive Theatre's teaching of astronomy is very much tailored to all the various developmental stages of children's thinking and is the perfect introduction to space for little ones.

This summer, your mission-should you choose to accept it-is to train as a top-secret agent in our exciting, family-friendly spy school! Meet Laurentius Calvus, retired from the Roman army and now living as a farmer at his villa in Verulamium, and hear some of the stories from his life in Roman Britain.

The Family Discovery Mornings are a wonderful opportunity to explore the Cathedral, learn about its history, dress up, create some art & craft and settle down for some storytelling. Each session follow a different theme, so you never do the same trail twice!

Age : 5 - 11 year olds, All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

This is a drop-in session. To complete the whole trail will take about 60 minutes. Due to other Cathedral activities the event finishes at 12.30pm sharp.

A selection of craft based activities for children age 0-11 years. Parents/carers must stay with the child for the duration of the session. Only children need to book a ticket, children under 12 months may attend for free. Discover the creatures lurking in the hidden depths of the waters - from the tiny water flea to the mighty dragonfly nymph, the ponds of Rye Meads are full of a variety of amazing animals!

Available from 10am-4pm Thursday to Sunday during the summer holidays. No need to book, just turn up on the day! (Please be aware there will be no pond dipping on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays).

Transport your little ones into outer space with our immersive Space Dome. We have teamed up with Immersive Theatres who are a mobile digital planetarium service specialising in astronomy, interactive learning, entertainment and a digital 360-degree exploration of space! Enter the dome and we will take you on an up-close educational voyage into space, where little ones will learn about the universe in an accessible way. Immersive Theatre's teaching of astronomy is very much tailored to all the various developmental stages of children's thinking and is the perfect introduction to space for little ones.

This two day festival features a variety of living history encampments, recreating a glimpse of daily life from years gone by. The RAF Museum London is ready for lift-off this summer!
Get ready for six whole weeks of hands-on fun, creative workshops and exciting challenges to keep the kids (and grown-ups!) busy all summer long.

KidsFest is BACK! It's BIGGER! It's BETTER! And it's running EVERYDAY this Summer Holiday!

Enjoy a boogie at our Main Stage and be entertained by our headline acts. Get your festival sparkle on at our DIY Glitter Station, AND have a blast at the Foam Party!

The kids will love exploring our Crazy Golf AND Adventure Playground! Not forgetting about the rest of the fun too, enjoy jumping around on the inflatable pillow, getting dizzy on the fairground rides, AND of course, meet our friendly farm yard animals!

For every fully paid child ticket they receive an Activity Book worth £15.99 & Free Festival Lanyard!

Our PARKLET will be on Market Hill from 23rd July - 2nd September for 2025!

This year, see our Estate transform into a Sports Village with free, outdoor activities like football, cricket, hockey, tennis, table tennis, athletics, frisbee golf, mini croquet and Wednesday soft archery for you to get stuck into.

Activities are self-led, just pick up the equipment from the Sports Village. Accessible drop off points and sensory sports equipment is also available. Please get in touch if you wish to find out more.

A very special adventure has arrived at Whipsnade Zoo: twelve magical trolls need YOU to join their team of field researchers! They've noticed that we humans get up to all kinds of puzzling antics, and many grown-ups even seem to have forgotten how to connect with nature. So, the trolls have set off on an exciting mission to learn all they can about humankind - and they need the help of curious, nature-loving kids to show the way! Experience the world premiere of Trolls: A Field Study this summer at Whipsnade Zoo.

You can collect your map from the desk opposite the trolls by the big map opposite lemurs. The trail is a self-led trail where

On our trail for the summer holidays, take on the challenges to see if you can beat the best. Perfect for families, but great for anyone who wants to test themselves and feel the satisfaction of being crowned a 'Super Skilled Senser'!
