It may be a bit early to think about snow but The Snowman TM, an enchanting exhibition for all the family, comes to Hitchin from 5th October, so you can plan a visit on a wet winter weekend or October half-term holiday!

The book, first published in 1978, was created and illustrated by Raymond Briggs, drawn only with pencil crayons in a comic strip format. Then in 1982, the classic picture book was adapted into a 26-minute animated film. Grab a wheelbarrow and venture through our picturesque pumpkin farm with over 100,000 home grown pumpkins and squash to choose from!

This year we have grown over 75 different varieties of pumpkin and squash at the Pumpkin Patch, so whether you like knobbly ones, white ones, yellow ones, giant ones or absolutely tiny ones, we have got them all.

Keep an eye out for our roaming street actors who are bound to come and say hello!

Pick your pumpkin from Willow's Pumpkin Patch and enjoy a full programme of pumpkin-tastic fun!

We've 1000's of Willows pumpkins for children to pick*. There's also a Pumpkin Hunt for you all to enjoy with a prize for all those taking part.

Looking for some thing different to do this Halloween?

What about picking your pumpkin while in the company of our cheeky goats!

Spend some time in our pumpkin field, choose your pumpkin to take home and carve as well as spending some fun time with our cheeky goats. Under the guidance of our animal keepers you will be introduced to some of our goats including Gary, Bertie, Billy, and even some of our babies that were born in the spring.

The activity lasts for approximately 20 minutes

It may be a bit early to think about snow but The Snowman TM, an enchanting exhibition for all the family, comes to Hitchin from 5th October, so you can plan a visit on a wet winter weekend or October half-term holiday!

The book, first published in 1978, was created and illustrated by Raymond Briggs, drawn only with pencil crayons in a comic strip format. Then in 1982, the classic picture book was adapted into a 26-minute animated film. In this workshop you will learn how to create your very own Lino print from scratch! By the end of the session you will leave confident, with two Lino cuts to reuse at home to make as many prints as you'd like. This will be a chill session with no prior experience needed. Gain a new skill, fueled by some lovely tea and coffee! You are welcome to bring any reference photos.

Friends of the Swiss Garden Present: Halloween Haunt 2024
Join us on this chilling October night as we take a spooky stroll through the Swiss Garden. Meet our after-dark residents, four storytellers waiting in the grounds, each ready to tell you their part of a brand-new story.

As you follow the trail, you'll discover what's trapped in the garden - just make sure it's not you! And be warned, there may be a few surprises along the way...

The Pop Up Farm is a family-run and family-friendly farm, welcoming visitors from all over the UK each year to our seasonal pop-up farming festivals.

Pumpkin Patch - explore our 12 acres, with lots of varieties of pumpkins and squash to choose from.

Our tractor tyre sandpit for little ones to enjoy.

The Pit Stop Café for hot dogs, hot and cold drinks and yummy ice cream (vegan options available).

Covering an acre, our 'Big Bales Stack' is a mountain of huge oat and wheat straw bales cut and carted from our farm close to Harpenden. From the summit you get a glorious view over the pumpkins and from base camp, a circuit of bales to leap and lunge across.

Spook-Fest runs from 12th October to 3rd November - Geared to families it is 'Spooky' rather than 'terrifying' and suitable for all ages.

Your Spook-Fest Ticket includes your Farm Pass to see all the animals as well as enjoying the spooky themed farm featuring the Aldenham Mausoleum and Spooky Shack and activities including- Giant Puzzles, Pumpkin Bingo, Spider Maze, Spooky-Oke, Mini Tractor Play, Bouncy Castle, Dance Tunnel and the Bale Play. It may be a bit early to think about snow but The Snowman TM, an enchanting exhibition for all the family, comes to Hitchin from 5th October, so you can plan a visit on a wet winter weekend or October half-term holiday!

The book, first published in 1978, was created and illustrated by Raymond Briggs, drawn only with pencil crayons in a comic strip format. Then in 1982, the classic picture book was adapted into a 26-minute animated film. Extending the picture book story was relatively easy for the talented creative team, who used their imagination to extend the Snowman's night of exploration - including a meeting with Father Christmas.
