Executive Function Coaching for Young People

Is your bright child struggling in school or university with organisation, focus and overwhelm?

If so.... it is highly likely that this is due to difficulties with Executive Functions.

Executive Functions are cognitive processes that shape the ability to focus, regulate emotions, plan and persevere with tasks. They are brain-based skills that we call upon in everything we do. They are the absolute foundations of academic success however are rarely addressed or supported in an academic environment.

I am an Executive Function Coach offering an evidence based coaching programme for young people (13 years plus). As well as being an accredited coach, I bring experience as a qualified teacher and family support worker.

I am warm, compassionate and respectful. I create a safe place for young people to unpick academic challenges.

Executive function coaching starts by exploring a young person's executive function profile, assists their understanding of brain function and fosters self-awareness. Then coaching identifies goals and a pathway to strengthen their executive function. The concept of neuroplasticity is at its core encouraging a growth mindset and lifelong skill development.

I deliver Executive Function coaching over 8 sessions – 7 coaching sessions with the young person (age 13 +) plus 1 session with parent/carer/stakeholder too to share insights and provide a steer on how best to provide support going forward.

Executive Function challenges are commonly linked to neurodivergence but it's not always the case so this coaching is suitable for any learner who is experiencing task focused difficulties.
