Hitchin Business Improvement District (BID) is a business-led partnership which is created through a ballot process to deliver additional services to local businesses. It's a powerful tool for directly involving local businesses in local activities and allow the business community to work together to improve the local trading environment.

Hitchin BID has delivered services which are seen as priorities by local businesses, customers and staff that use the town centre. Below is a brief list of the key elements that businesses have enjoyed the benefits of, since the first BID term began in 2009.

Visit Hitchin is your first stop for whatever you want to find in Hitchin.

We sell a wide range of Hitchin souvenirs and gifts, Hitchin Gin, local art, and Hitchin Lavender products. We stock publications containing local walks, attractions and events alongside maps, and tickets for Ghost Walks and Historic Guided tours.

We are a centre for community and tourist information, bus timetables, the local booking office and the Lost & Found hub for the town. The Town Centre Manager is based here.
