New Moon Yoga offers moments of calm and connection for our children in this fast paced world.
Through mindful movement, fun breathing exercises, engaging themed sessions, and guided meditation in regular small group sessions. Every child is offered the opportunity to be their authentic selves, in a safe and supportive space where self-expression is encouraged. Yoga is a practice and not a perfection, and we celebrate the different shapes that our bodies make through mindful yoga movement. Our sessions also suit children who are neurodiverse, with the small group setting and calm environment allowing space for them to find a version of the practice that works for them, supported by MJ who is neurodiverse herself.
We currently work in several schools and nurseries in and around Letchworth, and run weekly Sunday afternoon 'Zen Den' sessions for children aged 6+ In addition we will be starting monthly 'Family Flow' sessions from 19th October. We also offer 1:1 sessions that can be booked privately.
MJ owns and runs New Moon Yoga, and is a qualified children's yoga teacher with over 10 years of personal practice in various styles of yoga. MJ also has an NVQ level 2 in Understanding Child Mental Health, an NVQ level 3 in Youth Work, and is a qualified first aider. As a Mum of 2, it was observing the connection that her own children experienced through playful yoga sessions that she did at home that inspired her to start this small local business.
