Kathleen Whyman - Author
Hitchin author and mum, Kathleen Whyman, understands the struggle to balance a career with childcare while keeping on top of the house and life admin etc.
It's what inspires her humorous, women's fiction novels, one of which was shortlisted for the Comedy Women in Print (CWIP) Prize.
Her latest book Would You Ask My Husband That? is an Amazon bestseller and tells the story of married couple Sarah and Will, whose lives are turned upside down when he loses his job and she gets promoted. Overnight, Will becomes the one at home looking after the kids while Sarah's the high-flying breadwinner. The role-reversal creates guilt, tension, resentment, soul-searching, double standards and, just for the fun of it, a bit more guilt. They're both driven to wondering what's worth more - the marriage or the job?
Kathleen's book launch took place at David's Bookshop in Letchworth and was attended by CWIP's founder - the comedian, actress and writer Helen Lederer.
