Education & childcare

We are a well established term time Pre-School and Nursery based in the heart of Hitchin, providing childcare for local children since 1968. We take children from the age of 2 to when they start school. We offer morning sessions 9am - 12pm Monday to Friday, or full days 9am - 3pm Monday to Thursday.

Tilehouse Street is a small intimate setting with smaller class sizes. We strive to provide our children with a sense of self belief, understanding and accountability. This enables them to leave with confidence to take on the next part of their learning or life journey with enthusiasm.

Tilehouse Street Pre-school and Nursery have two dedicated rooms where children learn through play and adult guided interactions. Our Nursery class have more directed activities to enable them to feel school ready when the time comes. We have many additional activities such as cooking, Mini Athletics, Woodwork and gymnastics (subject to availability).
