Children's activity clubs & classes

Adult and family volunteering and fun sessions. Do you want to get the kids outside doing something different? Fancy a break from working at home? Why not come to the youth allotment on Tuesday or Friday mornings? Free but donations are welcome and gratefully received.

Tuesdays in August 9.30 to 12, Fridays (except 11th) 10.30 to 1, or anytime in those slots. Suitable for adults and families (adults can supervise a maximum of three children. Children over 7, but if you have younger ones get in touch for a chat, we are very accommodating).

Hitchin Youth Allotment (HiYA) is a successful and nationally recognised community organisation run to get young people involved with gardening, growing fruit and vegetables, healthy eating and environmental issues. It is a fun and hands on environment. If you would like to come along please let me know so I have rough numbers. Feel free to bring a friend and a drink/biccie if you want. We have all the gardening tools we need. Please bring your own gloves, but if you need to borrow a pair we do have some. These are our regular volunteer sessions but if you fancy dropping in your could really help by doing some watering, weeding and harvesting....... and there may be veggies and cut flowers to take home so bring a bag just in case. At worst its a breath of fresh air while doing something good. If you need to expend some energy we have some jobs which will do that too. Something for everyone including if you want to learn a bit.
